4myhead.com Jashcroft provides British hats and scarves for those with cancer chemotherapy hair loss

About us

4myhead.com is based in South Bucks, near Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, High Wycombe, Windsor and Maidenhead. Home visits are available in these areas.

4myhead.com seeks to provide stylish and comfortable hats and scarves for those suffering hair loss from cancer treatments. We design, individually make and sell scarves, hats and headbands from South Bucks. The designs are limited editions and all are made individually in the UK by British seamstresses.

We continue to develop our ideas and selection of useful products. In 2011, we became stockists of the Lepel Athena soft non-wired bra. Our newest product is our Wynter cape. Our first cape designs match one of our Kelly fabulous baker boy hats and two designs match our gorgeous Liberty headscarves. The cape shawls are suitable to wear indoors or outdoors for extra warmth. We also introduced our Cheryl silk scarves, in pink, lilac and blue. New products are available on our sister website Jashcroft.co.uk

In 2011, we launched our second website, offering our clients an even wider choice of headscarves for those with breast cancer, turbans for women and cotton cancer hats for ladies with hair loss. It also offers the opportunity to search by colour and size. If you wish to shop on the jashcroft site, please click on the logo below:

Our aim with everything we offer is to help women and men who have hair loss face each day feeling and looking confident about their appearance. We speak with the breast cancer and ovarian cancer charities to understand the needs of women who are chemotherapy patients. We also visit hospitals to meet with chemotherapy nurse specialists, Macmillan advisors and hair and beauty advisors. Our designs are influenced by our clients, fashion trends and meeting the functional requirement of covering for hair loss.

We seek to offer a helpful service. We offer quick, easy and secure online ordering. All orders are posted first class and packaged so that they fit through standard letter boxes.

Q: What are the sizes?

A: The majority of our headscarves and hats are designed to one size for an adult head with additional features that allow them to be adjusted to comfortably fit. As they are each individually made, they may vary slightly. The fit type - ie. 'loose' or 'tight' is included in the product description. In general, they have been made to a head measurement of 58cm (taken from the mid centre forehead, behind the ear and over the bump at the back). The original designs incorporate features for security and comfort. The Trndy has an elastic back to stretch to fit. The Capry headscarf has ties to hold it securely. On most of the styles, the band can be folded over for smaller heads and most of the materials have stretch in them. On our new website, www.jashcroft.co.uk, you can search for headwear by size as we have some hats and beanies that fit either smaller or larger heads.

Q: What are the fabric choices?

A: We endeavor to use natural fabrics. We look for fabrics that are beautiful, comfortable and easy to take care of. We typically use cotton jersey for our scarves. Cotton jersey can typically be described as tshirt material. That description does not do justice to the material we choose. Our material has been selected to enhance your appearance and it is also soft, stretchy and easily washed. Our cotton jerseys often have small amounts of spandex to provide the stretch to fit and to maintain the shape. Jersey fabrics vary from quite thin to thicker qualities. All are soft and have the breathable quality of cotton.

Silk. We do have one Capry available in a powder blue silk. We do not generally use silk as it requires dry cleaning and is slippery. The Capry we have in silk we have lined with cotton so it stays where it should. Silk scarves are not usually recommended for hair loss sufferers for the reasons above.

Viscose. Many designers have moved from cotton jersey to viscose jersey. This is because viscose drapes well. We are experimenting with viscose jersey with two of our Capry scarves. We appreciate your comments and views. Viscose is man made from the cellulose of wood pulp or cotton.

Wool. A fantastic natural fabric but usually requires dry cleaning. and can be uncomfortable next to the skin. We have used wool in our Beryl berets and our Kelly baker boy hats as it is the obvious choice for this style. All are lined with cotton jersey. To achieve easy care the grey Beryl BG1 and the Kelly KN1 are in a wool and polyester mix.

A: We display scarves and hats appropriate to the season and display our full stock on www.jashcroft.co.uk. We also have other headwear we display from time to time as we support a number of cancer charities.
